Frequently asked questions

What are Elzein Bakery's opening hours?

We're open Monday to Saturday, 6am to 3pm, and Sunday and public holidays, 6am to 2pm. We're at 1A Firth Street, Arncliffe, next to Arncliffe railway station. Manoush comes out of the oven from early morning, so breakfast is our busiest time.

Is Elzein Bakery halal?

Yes. Elzein Bakery is halal certified (حلال). Everything we bake — zaatar manoush, Lebanese meat pizza, pides and our full pizza menu — is prepared with halal ingredients. That applies to everything we sell — there is no separate non-halal menu.

What is zaatar manoush?

Manoush (also spelled manoushe, manakish or manakeesh) is a traditional Lebanese flatbread baked hot in the oven. Zaatar manoush is topped with a blend of wild thyme, sesame and sumac in olive oil. Ours follows a family recipe we've baked in Arncliffe since 2003, and costs $3.

What makes Lebanese pizza different from regular pizza?

Lebanese pizza is baked on fresh, manoush-style dough with generous cheese and no heavy tomato-sauce base. The result is lighter and less oily than a typical takeaway pizza — it's the thing our regulars mention most in their reviews.

Does Elzein Bakery deliver?

We're set up for pickup: walk in or phone (02) 9556 3136 to order ahead. For delivery, order through Uber Eats or DoorDash — check the app for availability in your suburb.

Do you cater for parties and events?

Yes. We cater manoush, pizzas and pides for birthdays, office functions, school events and community gatherings across Arncliffe and the St George area. Call (02) 9556 3136 or see our catering page to plan an order.

Where is Elzein Bakery and how do I get there?

1A Firth Street, Arncliffe NSW 2205 — right next to Arncliffe railway station on the T4 Illawarra line, so it's an easy stop on the way to work. If you're driving, there's usually street parking around the station.

Do you have vegetarian options?

Plenty. Zaatar, cheese, halloumi and labneh manoush, the vegetarian pizza, garlic and cheese, and the spinach pides are all vegetarian. Our dough is a traditional wheat dough, so items are not gluten free.
